Your First Date:
We met through work friends on a blind date. For both of us. it was our first ever dates. We met at a pub in may 2012 for a meal and a visit to the cinema. There was a connection from the day we met.
James planned a surprise trip away to Paris. Proposed under the Eiffel Tower on the 1st of November 2014 after a lovely meal.
Fit for a princess. Big white dress with lace and sequins. Big trail. Bought at the national wedding exhibition at NEC.
Our Budget Was Spent On:
The honeymoon! We love to make memories and experience the world together. The trip included Mexico, Florida (Disney World), Las Vegas and New York. Absolutely amazing!
Planning is the Key to a Stress-Free Wedding:
Decide what time of the year you want to get married and go from there. The main thing to consider is what you and your future partner want and what makes you both happy. A happy couple makes happy guests.
What Was Important When Choosing Your Wedding Venue:
Somewhere we both loved. However we also found that the wedding coordinator was an extremely important person to make our day amazing. Janine was friendly, accommodating and accessible. She was able to sort everything. We also wanted a venue close to home but had accommodation for guests.
John and Debbie (Xpressions photography), family member for cake (Cat Sherrin- curly’s cooking, found on facebook), family friend for hair, apex sounds for dj. Florist was Suzie Whall- the flowers still stick in the front of my mind now with how absolutely beautiful they were. Inflatable photobooth. Joe spires (videoography).
The Best Part of the Day:
Walking down the Isle, James singing with Lincoln on piano, the toasts, celebrating with all our friends and family.
Tip of the Day:
If we could give one tip to other couples it would be, just enjoy every moment as it really does fly by and you can never get that time back again. Embrace it.
The last 6 months has been amazing being married. We are starting to build our future together. We bought two kittens when we arrived home from honeymoon and plan to start our next chapter with a family next year.
Thank you to Marishka and James Goodwin for sharing their real wedding story.
